Nancy’s Gone Green
Gecko Traders Recycled Printed Rice Tote Bag
As seen in the May 2009 issue of Teen Vogue magazine!
Fun, functional, and downright ingenious, these delightfully colorful and roomy totes made from recycled Vietnamese rice bags introduce a whole new spin on over-the-shoulder transport!
# 100% recycled rice and feed bags
#16″ wide X 12″ high X 6.6″ deep
#2 interior pockets for cell phone etc.
#magnet snap closure on top
# Handmade in and fairly traded from Cambodia
Each bag is one of a kind and extremely durable.
Each recycled bag is made by a women’s cooperative in Cambodia aimed at abolishing the horrors of human trafficking. Despite international recognition of the issues and efforts to prosecute sex tourism, sexual slavery is still pervasive in Cambodia and Vietnam. Creating handicrafts is a way for women to earn a living and lessen their vulnerability to prostitution and human trafficking, and access to Western markets gives them a better opportunity to make a livable wage.
